First of all, you need to have fibre capabilities in your neighbourhood. Second is the time it takes to get your connection up and streaming. A line provider will need to visit your house at least two times, once for scoping and once for the installation. Depending on your property, they may need to seek consent for laying cables, involving other parties like your neighbours or landlord. Keeping them up to date with changes will help speed the process along.

The third thing to consider is where to put the equipment. This will consist of an ONT box, which receives the signals and is where you will plug your modem. It is best to install this in in a central location in your home, to ensure it can send good quality signals to each part of the home. If you are worried about the look of the box, talk to your installer to ensure it is installed in a discreet location.

How to choose the best fibre plan

Finally, it is important to consider what kind of plan you want. If you have a large family of screen lovers and gamers, plans like fibre max and fibre 200 will give you high enough speeds to support high-data demand activities. However, you may find more value in a lower speed cap at a cheaper price, especially if you only watch the odd video and use the internet to check social media and send emails.
